Internasjonalt Seminar holder sitt første arrangement denne høsten. Der kan du møte Laura Castor, professor emerita i engelsk litteraturvitenskap ved UiT. Hun skal snakke om viktigheten med å lese litteratur fra alle hjørner av verden.

International Seminar is hosting its first event for this autumn. There, you can meet Laura Castor, Professor Emerita of English Literature at UiT. She will talk about the importance of reading literature from all corners of the world.

Internasjonalt Seminar er et informasjons- og debattforum i Tromsø, som gjennom foredrag og paneldiskusjoner tar opp nord/sør-problematikk, miljø/klima, fattigdom/utvikling og krig/fred som sentrale tema.
Torsdag 4. september kl. 19:00-21:00, på Tromsø bibliotek og byarkiv, holdes åpningsforedraget i programmet for Internasjonalt Seminar denne høsten.
Under foredraget vil du få en presentasjon av leseprosjektet Les deg verden rundt.
Vi har invitert Laura Castor, professor emerita i engelsk litteraturvitenskap ved UiT, til å snakke om viktigheten med å lese litteratur fra alle hjørner av verden.
Arrangementet vil foregå på engelsk.
I prosjektet Les deg verden rundt er et prosjekt skal vi gjennom et helt år skal vi presentere litteratur fra ulike deler av kloden.
Hver måned byr vi på litteratur fra et nytt område eller verdensdel som du kan bli bedre kjent med.
Prosjektet er for både barn og voksne, og du vil kunne høre opplesninger, foredrag og annet som både er gøy og tankevekkende for lesere i alle aldre.
Internasjonalt seminar har et program med 25-30 åpne møter i året.
Seminaret støttes av Tromsø kommune og koordineres av FN-sambandet Nord og Seksjon for internasjonalt samarbeid (SIS) ved UiT Norges arktiske universitet.
I tillegg støttes seminaret av Tromsøs humanitære organisasjoner, solidaritets- organisasjoner og studentorganisasjoner.

International Seminar is an information and debate forum in Tromsø, which, through lectures and panel discussions, addresses key topics such as North/South issues, environment/climate, poverty/development, and war/peace.
On Thursday, 4th September, from 19:00 to 21:00, at Tromsø Library and City Archives, the opening lecture of this autumn's programme for International Seminar will take place.
During the lecture, you will be introduced to the reading project "Read Your Way Around the World".
We have invited Laura Castor, Professor Emerita of English Literature at UiT, to speak about the importance of reading literature from all corners of the world. The event will be conducted in English.
The project "Read Your Way Around the World" is a year-long initiative where we will present literature from various parts of the globe. Each month, we will feature literature from a new region or continent, allowing you to become better acquainted with it. The project is designed for both children and adults, offering readings, lectures, and other activities that are both fun and thought-provoking for readers of all ages.
International Seminar hosts a programme of 25-30 open meetings annually.
The seminar is supported by Tromsø Municipality and coordinated by the United Nations Association of Norway (Northern Region) and the Section for International Cooperation (SIS) at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
Additionally, the seminar is supported by Tromsø's humanitarian organisations, solidarity organisations, and student organisations.
