This 9-hour course will provide you with the facts and knowledge you need to perform guided tours of the Arctic University Museum of Norway, with a particular focus on the popular Sami and Northern Lights exhibitions. The course is led by Per Helge Nylund, who is widely regarded as an inspiring and effective communicator. NB! Sign up by October 6.
This course is aimed at anyone who does or want to do museum guiding professionally, e.g. working for a guide company or tour operator in Tromsø. Other employees in the tourism industry in Tromsø will also greatly benefit from following this course.
The course is held October 7.-8. 2025. Each day the course runs 16:30-21:00 (4.30pm-9.00pm).
You will receive some printed material for a few of the exhibitions, and we will exclusively offer you a favorable price on relevant exhibition catalogues in our museum shop. The museum issues a course certificate to participants who follow the whole course.
There is a course fee of NOK 500 per student, payable in the museum shop on arrival (companies can arrange to pay by invoice - please contact siri.a.holmoy@uit.no).
The class size is limited to 30 students, on a first come-first served basis.
If fewer than five participants register, the course will be cancelled. In that case, registered participants will be notified on Monday, October 6.
We are looking forward to seeing you for a comprehensive and complete presentation of our exhibitions!
