    Research interests

    John Brodersen er specialist i almen medicin (praktiserende læge) og har mere end ti års klinisk erfaring som læge. John Brodersen har en ph.d. inden for folkesundhedsvidenskab og moderne spørgeskemametodik, og er desuden ansat på Københavns Universitet, Afdeling for Almen Medicin. 

    John Brodersens forskning er fokuseret på forebyggelse, risiko, screening, overdiagnostik, evidensbaseret medicin, og multisygdom. Aktuelt arbejder han med screening for bryst-, lunge-, livmoderhals- og tarm-kræft, samt screening for abdominalt aorta aneurisme og prænatalscreening. Han har udviklet og valideret spørgeskemaer til måling af psykosociale konsekvenser hos personer, der er blevet overdiagnosticeret eller har fået et falsk positivt svar ved screening for livstruende sygdomme. Han har anvendt kvalitative og kvantitative metoder i sin forskning, blandt andet Rasch modellen til at kvantificere subjektive begreber såsom psykosociale konsekvenser. John Brodersen har publiceret bredt i danske, nordiske og internationale videnskabelige tidsskrifter.

    Teaching

    Underviser og vejleder i emnerne forebyggelse, screening, overdiagnostik, risiko, risikoformidling, det informerede samtykke ved screening, spørgeskemaudvikling og validering, og evidensbaseret medicin.
