Beyond Borders: Emotional, Ecological and Ocean Literacy in Tanzania

Ruvuma Region, Tanzania – Our educational and research project titled "Beyond Borders: A Co-Created Educational Project on Emotional, Ecological, and Ocean Literacy" has been launched in the Ruvuma Region of Tanzania. This initiative, spearheaded by an international team of researchers and educators, aims to foster emotional, ecological, and ocean literacy among local communities. The project is detailed in the 2025 publication of Septentrio Reports (Issue 2), authored by Margherita Paola Poto, Camilla Neema Haule, Pietro Parola, Ladslaus Bigambo Masakula, Igor Peftiyev, Agnes Haule, Dana Ahmed, Valentina Russo, and Carolina Sarti.

The project is a collaborative effort that emphasizes co-creation, bringing together diverse perspectives to address pressing environmental and educational challenges. It seeks to empower communities by blending emotional intelligence with ecological awareness and ocean conservation, creating a holistic approach to education that transcends traditional boundaries.
