Bastian takes part in BLOWomics cruise
fieldwork at its best!
From the 4th to the 8th of May 2025, Bastian took part in an exciting sail-cruise around Andøya organized by Courtney Waugh from NORD university and the BLOWomics project. The purpose was to train Master students on how to fly drones into the blow of whales and, thus, collect samples for microRNA sequencing and virus detection. While being a bioinformatics collaborator and teaching the students how to make sense of sequencing data, hands-on experience was unique and the close work with whales, a stunning adventure.
