Overarching policy for open science

In 2024, UiT adopted an overarching policy for open science. UiT aims to be a national leader in open science and has, in its strategy, committed to promoting openness in research, education, and innovation, as well as developing the field in close collaboration with national and international partners. This entails that:
  • UiT shall recognize and value open research practices in the evaluation of academic career paths
  • UiT shall facilitate open publishing (open access)
  • UiT shall facilitate open sharing of research data
  • UiT shall facilitate open education, including the use and sharing of open educational resources
  • UiT shall facilitate open innovation
  • UiT shall facilitate involvement and participation from societal actors outside academia
