EOSC EDEN

The EOSC EDEN project seeks to enhance digital preservation strategies at European and National level, to make sure research data remain FAIR in the long term. At its core, the project will create a comprehensive framework to identify what data are candidates for digital preservation. In addition to the framework, the EOSC EDEN project aims to develop a model for re-assessing data throughout its lifecycle.

In this talk, we will present results from our ongoing work on the identification of requirements and needs for long-term data preservation within and across scientific disciplines and data types. Using data and user journeys gathered in the first year of the project, our goal is to reduce the pain points experienced by research communities, repositories and archives.

This Open Science Lunch will focus on the perspective of research communities, and we invite researchers to reflect on their role in the development and implementation of relevant long-term preservation strategies and solutions.

Philipp Conzett coordinates UiT’s participation in EOSC EDEN and leads a workpackage on discipline-specific requirements, validation and future use. Helene N. Andreassen leads a task on discipline-specific,cross-disciplinary, and data-type specific requirements in EOSC EDEN. They are both Senior Research Librarians at UiT.
