Arrival & departure: It is expected for travelling participants (both students and lecturers) to arrive on the 7th and depart of the 15th of April, with the in-person course held from the 8th until the 14th.

You can travel from/to the Tromsø airport using city buses. We highly recommend for you to download the Svipper app, from which you can buy tickets as well as check bus routes and timetables: you can download the app even before you travel, or while you wait for your luggage at the airport. A 7-day ticket will set you off about 350 NOK (a one-way ticket is around 50 NOK).

 

Student accommodation: The travelling students will have the opportunity to get accommodation for a reasonable price at the UiT guest house in Breiviklia 13, 9019 Tromsø. The guest house consists of doublets, with two rooms sharing a kitchen and bathroom. Upon arrival, you will have to pick up your key at the Samskipnaden housing office (opening hours on Tuesday: 10:00–14:00*), as the guest house has no reception or doorman.

Facilities:

  • Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms (uit.guest).
  • Clean linens and towels will be provided upon arrival.
  • The kitchen is equipped with basic kitchenware. The bathroom and the kitchen/eating area will be cleaned once a week by a cleaning company.
  • There is a common laundry room on each floor.

*If you will be arriving outside of opening hours, please arrange for someone to collect the keys on your behalf. Samskipnaden requires written notification in advance via e-mail (uit.housing@samskipnaden.no), with "Issuing of Keys" in the subject line. Keys can also be placed in a box outside of the Samskipnaden housing office (contact them via email to make the necessary arrangements and receive the code for the box).
