The exam is comprised of submission of the project paper within a given deadline. The deadline for submission is normally May 15th in the spring semester and November 15th in fall semester. If the submission date falls on a holiday or a weekend, the submission date is postponed to the first working day after the deadlines.

More info about the oral exam

An oral exam is held within 6 weeks of the thesis being submitted, if the thesis is approved. The oral exam consists of a public presentation by the student of his/her work of at least 30 minutes in length with the examiners being present, followed by an oral examination/conversation with the examiners about the project. The master`s thesis and oral examination are assessed together. The oral exam can adjust the final grade one grade up or down.

Re-sit examination

Students who do not pass the previous ordinary examination can gain access to a re-sit examination. The deadline for resubmitting the thesis is 3 months from the time the candidate is informed about the exam result. If the thesis receives a grade of "F" a second time, the student must apply to the Programme Board for a new master`s thesis project.
