Building Bridges Between Theory and Practice

Welcome to the homepage of the Midnight Sun Summit in Mathematics and Engineering (MSSME) organized by the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics and of Computer Science and Computational Engineering at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. Our conference will take place on June 15-19, 2026 in Narvik, Norway with the following objectives:

  • To highlight recent advances and outstanding challenges in fields where mathematics and engineering intersect.
  • To foster an environment conducive to networking and interdisciplinary exchange.
  • To provide a platform for researchers at all career stages—from graduate students to internationally recognized scholars—to share and discuss their work.
  • To enhance collaboration with industry partners.
  • To strengthen ties between Scandinavia and the international research community.

Call for papers

We intend to publish a volume of conference proceedings. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
